My journey

 Hi everyone, It's me, your favorite ELT student and I am here to say goodbye to you all. I reached the end of the Current Issues in Teaching course.

As a reflection, I would like to discuss the content of the course. I liked the course a lot, I think it prepared us for the future of education. Though the assignments were a lot, I think they were needed to acquire the skillsets we need to have in the future as educators. I liked the AI task a lot because I think it will shape the future, while the one I didn't like the most was the flipped classroom video task because there were a lot of technical issues I had to work through. I think I would improve this course by adding more AI stuff into the assignments ( as that is what I think will impact the future education landscape the most). To the next year's students, I would like to say: Prepare accordingly, and don't forget to enjoy the journey, do not focus on the destination (your scores). And lastly, I think this course will contribute a lot to my professional development (it already did) by helping me acquire skillsets that will be important in the future landscape of education.

AI will take over the world, but here is how we can benefit from it in our teaching before it gets there.

 Hi everyone, It's me, your favorite ELT student again. I am here to present you a brand new project incorporating AI into English teaching and I am incredibly enthusiastic about the whole thing. 

To start off, our instructor gave us what to do on this project. We were going to create a worksheet including AI feedback on the student's writing et cetera.  The whole concept is very intriguing to me because I think AI will completely change how we perceive the world, similar to the industrial revolution of the past. While we are not yet in the 'completely changed' phase, it would be better to say that we are in the beginning phase of artificial intelligence. Here is a song i listen to nowadays (and is very hype) about AI: We Appreciate Power by Grimes and HANA

Anyway, back to the topic. This project was hard for me to do because while the task itself was easy (which is basically creating a simple worksheet guiding the students) the project was in the middle of the final exams. So i found it hard to focus on it. We chose the superhero theme and asked the students to describe superheros they know, and create their own heroes and ask the AI feedback about it. We also created an ASSURE lesson plan to go with it. I hope you enjoy it.
